  10. Mariners made him the first pick of the 1987 
  11. draft. KenΓÇÖs dad, Ken Griffey, Senior (who 
  12. calls himself "The Original Griffey"), played 
  13. for the 1975 and 1976 World Series cham-
  14. pion Cincinnati Reds. So, before Ken junior
  15. spent his first spring training with the Mari-
  16. ners, he had spent many springs with his 
  17. dad and the various major league teams 
  18. he played for, including the Reds, New 
  19. York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves.
